Daytona Tamworth InKart Round 1!

Quite a big grid for the first round of the season, with 11 cadets racing. It was the Heats format this round, with 2 random grid heats deciding starting grids for the finals. In Heat 1 Jess started in P1, but a spin on lap 2 dropped her back a place 5 seconds. Some quick laps let Jess catch back up and she took the lead a couple of laps from the end to take P1.

In Heat 2 Jess started P5 and fought up to P1, but lost a place four laps from the end and finished P2. That was tied for the most points from the heats but a slower best lap meant Jess would start the final from P2.

It was a very competitive affair, the top 5 finished less than 2 seconds apart! There was lots of fighting for position throughout, with some firm but fair and clean racing. Jess ended up finishing in P4, and despite struggling a bit with her kart out of corners, managed to set my first fastest lap in the A final!
